Romaan saavutas 2008 aasta Romaanivõistlusel 3. koha

Pealkiri (kreeka keeles - valuhimu) tähendab seksuaalset eripära, kus naudinguallikaks on valu. Seoses sellega käsitletakse ühe vampiirikogukonna elu, mis kasutab noori, suuremas osas teismelisi, oma toiduallikana, sundides neid enda juures elama, kuigi üllataval kombel ei paista noortel selle vastu midagi olevat, sest vastutasuks pakuvad vampiirid neile mingisugust, olgugi kesist, elumõtet ja eemaldavad neid nende igapäevamuredest.
